Job summary An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated, experienced and dynamic nurses to join our friendly and enthusiastic children's Nursing Team on the Children's ward at St Richard's Hospital. Both full and part-time hours will be considered for this position. You will be well supported in your role by the Ward Sister and Matron as well as our lovely band 6 team. Opportunities for further development are available and encouraged with support from our Practice Development Team. Howard, Children's Unit is a 20 bedded general paediatric ward with a separate children's Assessment Unit and a High Dependency area. We are a friendly supportive team who strive to provide excellent care for our patients and families in collaboration with the multi-disciplinary team. Main duties of the job The successful post holders will work alongside our team of Deputy Sisters and act as a lead for the team in the absence of the Ward Manager. Excellent communication and team working skills are essential. Applicants will illustrate good team leadership skills, be competent in HDU care and the stabilisation of the critically ill child.Experience of managing a team, mentoring students and safeguarding is essential. Experience of caring for children and young people with mental health issues is desirable.
