Utilita Arena Sheffield opened in 1991, is a vibrant multi-purpose venue that hosts world-class concerts, sporting events, and family entertainment. With a capacity of up to 13,600, it is one of the UK's premier indoor arenas, having welcomed legendary acts like Elton John, Arctic Monkeys, and Oasis. The “House of Steel” is also home to the Elite League Grand Slam championship-winning ice hockey team, the Sheffield Steelers. Known for its electric atmosphere and iconic performances, the arena offers an exciting, fast-paced environment where no two days are ever the same.
Sheffield City Hall, a stunning Art Deco venue, has been a cultural landmark since its opening in 1932. Boasting three performance spaces, including the magnificent 2,271-seat Oval Hall, this historic venue hosts diverse events—from live music and comedy to conferences and community gatherings. About The Role:
As our Venue Reception & Security Officer, you will work as part of our Venue Security Team to provide exceptional service, securing our employees, staff, guests and assets.
You will manage access, making sure people are signed in and out correctly, take responsibility of deliveries and the receipt of goods including: mail security screening, administration and notifications.
This role also includes providing cover in our Security Control Room and monitoring our CCTV Systems.
PLEASE NOTE: This role is based across both our Sheffield Utilita and Sheffield Citty Hall Venues. The requirements of the business are such that a 24/7 shift pattern will be required.
Your Responsibilities-
* Ensure all building systems including, but not limited to, fire system, and house radio, are fully functional and maintained.
* To conduct planned and proactive internal and external security patrols.
* Administer security applications and provide management information or evidence for the authorities, as required.
* To manage access control systems for staff, tenants, visitors, contractors and productions.
* To deal with any First Aid requirements that may arise during the day.
* Incident and emergency response during event and non-event operations
* To be fully conversant with the Company’s security and safety procedures and make decisions or referrals as appropriate.
* To assist other departments as required.
The requirements of the business are such that a 24/7 shift pattern will be required.
About You:
* Previous experience of working within a similar role in a
* Current SIA Door Supervisors Licence
* Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW) Qualification
* Awareness of Counter Terrorism Threats and Protective Measures
* The ability to take control of an emergency incident such as an evacuation and remain calm under pressure and the confidence/ability to deal with difficult situations including those involving conflict.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills - both written and verbal.
* Excellent customer care skills.
* The ability to work on own initiative as well as part of a team.
* Presentable appearance.
* Reliable and flexible.
Desirable:
* Current SIA CCTV Licence.
* First Aid at Work (FAW) Qualification.
* FREC 3 or FPOS First Aid Qualification
* Experience working in the event industry e.g. Door Supervision, Event Stewarding or Venue Security.
* Other security experience such as retail, loss prevention or manned guarding.
* Fire Awareness Training.
* Level 3 qualification in Security Operations or Management (NVQ or similar)
Additional Requirements:
ASM Global requires all security staff to be vetted under BS7858, which includes:
* 5 years of employment verification.
* Proof of ID & UK right to work.
* A valid SIA license or basic disclosure/ACPO check.
* Coverage of any 31+ day employment gap.
