About the Department The Cloud Capability Centre, part of abrdn’s Group Technology division, plays a key role in driving cloud adoption and innovation across the organisation. The Centre focuses on creating a robust Azure cloud platform that supports product, project, and operational delivery while fostering a financially responsible cloud adoption approach. Collaborating with teams across abrdn, the Centre ensures cloud-related decisions align with the organisation's technology, business, and governance priorities. About the Role As a Cloud FinOps Analyst, you will analyse and report on resource usage in abrdn’s cloud environments, providing actionable insights on trends, cost opportunities, and spend alignment. You will play a vital role in embedding cost optimisation practices across our Azure platform and workloads. Working closely with the Cloud Platform Engineering team and other stakeholders, you will identify opportunities for savings, support the adoption of FinOps practices, and contribute to building automation processes that enhance financial efficiency. Key Responsibilities Develop FinOps dashboards and reports to provide insights into workload and platform costs, cost drivers, and FinOps success metrics. Analyse workload and platform data to identify usage trends, spikes, and over-configuration. Identify cost optimisation opportunities through reservations, rightsizing, and savings plans. Collaborate with delivery teams to ensure workloads are optimised from the start. Conduct operational reviews of workloads to drive the adoption of FinOps practices. Monitor cost tagging compliance and tech lifecycle changes to identify risks and opportunities. Work with engineering teams to automate FinOps practices across the Azure environment. About the Candidate The ideal candidate will possess the following: Experience, Skills and Knowledge Knowledge of cloud economics, including cost optimisation concepts like rightsizing and forecasting. Familiarity with budgets, reservations, savings plans, and tagging strategies to manage costs. Experience using tools like Azure Cost Management, Power BI, or AWS Cost Explorer to analyse and report on costs and trends. Understanding of FinOps practices and foundations (e.g., FinOps Foundation Practitioner certification). Background in analysis with some experience in cloud financial operations (FinOps) across Azure, AWS, or GCP. We are proud to be a Disability Confident Committed employer.
