The role
As a Principal Electrical Design Engineer within Cavendish Nuclear, you will be involved in diverse projects ranging from decommissioning nuclear facilities to supporting nuclear power plants, aiming to clean up the nuclear legacy and support national security, energy, and net zero goals.
Your responsibilities include managing engineering and technical activities, interfacing with stakeholders, ensuring compliance with standards, conducting technical investigations, and contributing to process improvements.
* Manage customer relationships, design issues, and procurement specifications.
* Ensure adherence to procedures, codes, and standards.
* Review, verify, and approve technical deliverables.
* Interface with internal and external stakeholders at a detailed level.
* Conduct technical investigations and analysis.
* Contribute to process improvements in operational and design lifecycle.
* Apply engineering knowledge to produce technical solutions and documentation.
* Produce and verify calculations, reports, specifications, and method statements.
* Plan, deliver, and monitor tasks and projects, ensuring quality, time, and cost targets.
* Support project planning and control.
* Make engineering decisions within delegated authority.
* Act as Technical Authority or Engineering Lead when authorized.
Essential experience & qualifications
* Engineering degree or equivalent in relevant discipline with experience.
* Experience working in multi-disciplinary teams on various projects.
* Proven experience in diverse tasks.
* Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across disciplines.
The role offers a 37-hour work week with hybrid and flexible working options. The candidate must be able to obtain baseline security clearance.
