Volunteer at Catching Lives this Winter
Catching Lives will operate the Canterbury Community Shelter from December 16th, 2024, to March 16th, 2025.
During this time, we will collaborate with venues across the city to provide shelter to 15 guests each night.
We are looking for volunteers to help support the smooth running of the shelter each night, with staff onsite to supervise.
Evening Kitchen Team at the Day Centre: 17:00 - 19:30 (2 -3 people each evening to prepare a simple hot meal for up to 15 people) Evening Shelter Welcome Team at the venue (various locations): 19:30 - 21:30 (2 -3 people each evening to welcome guests, help with teas & coffees, etc.) Drivers: 45 minutes between 6:30 - 8:30 or 17:00 - 19:30 (transporting bedding from venue to centre AM or centre to venue PM)
If you'd like to volunteer, please head over to The Catching Lives page, download the application form and email a completed copy to volunteer@catchinglives.org
There is no set commitment to the role, and we welcome anyone who can offer some time, either ad hoc or on a more regular basis.
