Staff Nurse - Prince Charles Hospital. Coronary Care Unit
The successful candidate will work within a specialist Cardiology team delivering high quality care to an eight-bedded Level 2 Unit. Being part of the CCU team involves in-depth knowledge and skills in this field and requires excellent communication with the Multidisciplinary Team.
Main duties of the job
An opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic qualified nurse to join the team of experienced nurses working in the Coronary Care Unit within the Directorate of Medicine/A+E at Prince Charles Hospital. You will have the opportunity to develop your skills and knowledge by nursing patients with acute Cardiology/Medical conditions. You will be supported during your orientation and development. Ongoing support will be provided through clinical supervision, team meetings, and development days. You can expect to have regular appraisals and a personal development plan. The post is full time and rotational between day and night duty.

Job responsibilities
* Develop specialised nursing skills together with specialised technical knowledge and physical skills required for the effective holistic care of the critically ill cardiac patient.
* Develop the ability to anticipate, recognise and rapidly respond to the unpredictable problems/complications of the critically ill cardiac patient.
* Develop skills in the assessment and management of emergency cardiac admissions and acutely ill cardiac patients.
* Develop skills in recognition of life-threatening and non-life-threatening arrhythmias.
