We are looking for an Infrastructure Operations Engineer to join our team based in Bracknell, Berkshire. The Infrastructure Operations Engineer works within a team responsible for all activities associated with designing, deploying and maintaining the global infrastructure supporting our key services and applications.

This role is based in our head office in Bracknell, Berkshire.
This is an office-based vacancy and as such we expect all applicants to be willing to commute to our offices a minimum of 3-4 days per week as per our hybrid working policy.
Key responsibilities...
Monitoring & Maintenance
* Ensuring that correct alerting is configured and local work instructions are up to date
* Proposing, approving and implementing long term fixes for recurring issues
* Monitoring security and operational logs from a number of sources.
Reporting and analytics
* Responsible for planning, implementing and overseeing the operational system security requirements.
* Running and analysis of vulnerability fix levels across the platforms.
* Analysis and resolution of vendor released security bulletins, highlighting high security vulnerabilities.
* Preparing, maintaining and executing test plans and scripts for storm services, with the ability to adapt to customer’s requirements.
Patching
* Developing and executing platform patching methodologies and other updates as required e.g. firmware, end of life hardware and software.
Faults / Escalations
* Act as an escalation point for faults, attend/lead investigation into incidents and complete follow up tasks
* Propose solutions for preventative measures to mitigate recurrence of issues
* Create, approve and implement solutions to faults
Software Deployment
* Review of application designs and work instructions
* Installation of new services and upgrades of existing services
* Writing, approving and executing changes of low to medium risk levels
About you...
* A Bachelor's degree in STEM or a relevant subject.
* Experience working within the security sector/ an understanding of security networks is desirable.
* Good experience in a customer facing technical role.
* Good analytical skills.
* High attention to detail.
* Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
* Good standard of written and verbal communication.
* A good “team” attitude towards other departments in the business in order to make sure that communication and assistance is received in a timely and professional manner.
Please note, an element of overnight and shift work is expected as you will be supporting critical services.
