As a Qualified Social Worker in our Children and Families Team, you will play a pivotal role in assessing and supporting children and families in need. You will work collaboratively with families, partner agencies, and professionals to develop and implement effective intervention strategies that safeguard children and promote their welfare. Your expertise and compassion will be vital in ensuring the delivery of high-quality services and achieving positive outcomes for children and their families.
Responsibilities:
6. Conduct thorough assessments to identify the needs and risks faced by children and families.
7. Develop and implement child protection plans and care plans, ensuring their adherence to legal and regulatory standards.
8. Provide direct support and guidance to children, young people, and families, building effective relationships based on trust and respect.
9. Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams, including health professionals, educators, and law enforcement, to coordinate services and interventions.
10. Act as an advocate for children, ensuring their views and wishes are considered in decision-making processes.
11. Conduct regular home visits and attend case conferences, reviews, and court hearings as required.
12. Monitor the progress of children and families, reviewing and adjusting intervention plans as necessary.
13. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all interactions, assessments, and interventions.
Qualifications and Experience:
14. Degree in Social Work or equivalent qualification.
15. Registered with the appropriate regulatory body (e.g., Health and Care Professions Council).
16. Extensive experience in child protection and safeguarding within a social work setting.
17. In-depth knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, and procedures related to child welfare.
18. Strong assessment, analysis, and report writing skills.
19. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
20. Ability to build effective relationships with children, families, and professionals.
21. Resilience and the ability to work under pressure and within tight deadlines.
22. Commitment to continuous professional development and staying updated with best practices.
