Overview
Responsible for leading the on-site installation and testing works for our alpha energy storage system and our test rigs. To Liaise with suppliers and represent CEL at the supplier’s Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) for the various subsystems. Collaborating with the engine valve actuation team to develop the inhouse FAT and testing program to ensure delivery of highly reliable equipment.
Role Responsibilities
Develop and maintain standardised testing documentation, such as test plans test cases.
Monitor and report designated trials and testing activities
Resolve issues and faults associated with the operation and performance of Systems.
Work with technical autonomy and provide advice and guidance to other technical staff.
Provide guidance and support on Health, Safety, Environmental, Integrity & Quality aspects of discipline of work to achieve fit-for-purpose engineering
Ensure all team members understand the need for safe working practices and adhere to the safe working methods by providing regular guidance
Operate Safe Systems of Work that comply with the company HSE procedures at all times.
Ensure quality and regulatory compliance through design and equipment qualification
Embed a mindset for no deviation from the use of quality processes and procedures.
Manage, review and develop the day-to-day capability of the team to deliver required output
Conduct regular 1-2-1 meetings and review teams performance, ensuring adequate opportunity for development within the team against agreed objectives.
Develop and improve documentation for production and maintenance activities.
Lead implementation of process and procedure changes throughout assigned areas.
Provide technical support for assembly and test processes to improve manufacturing performance.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure business objectives are met.
Ensure utilization of appropriate engineering principles and standard strategies such as Lean and 5S principles.
Skills, Knowledge and Experience
Previous experience as a Testing Engineer/ Project Engineer/ Controls Engineer/Commissioning Engineer
Previous experience running test rigs, engine dyno’s or similar would be advantageous
Experience working with pressure equipment would be advantageous
The ability to manage concurrent projects
Experience within the industrial gases, energy, nuclear, oil&gas, chemical or water sectors
A qualification or previous education in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial) or a related field.
