The Fire Engineer's Role
* Develop comprehensive fire strategy reports and documentation.
* Oversee fire safety aspects, including passive and active systems, compartmentation, and escape provisions.
* Review architectural drawings to identify potential risks and opportunities.
* Perform evacuation time calculations and computational evacuation modelling.
* Conduct fire engineering calculations, such as radiant heat, smoke control, and occupant evacuation scenarios.
* Communicate fire strategies effectively to design teams and clients.
* Provide third-party design verification.
* Apply and ensure compliance with UK fire safety legislation and standards.
The Ideal Fire Engineer Will Have
1. A degree in Fire Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
2. Minimum of 2 years' experience as a Fire Engineer within a Fire Safety Engineering team.
3. Working knowledge of regulatory controls and the ability to develop fire-engineered design solutions.
