As a Procurement Officer, the post holder will be required to work as a part of a dynamic commercial team delivering an effective service supporting and advising staff across Humberside Police and for the office of the Police and Crime Commissioner (OPCC) on the commercial lifecycle.
The successful candidate will drive benefit and efficiencies whilst developing and managing commercial strategies for a portfolio of spend to achieve the strategic aims and objectives of the force and the OPCC.
Key Responsibilities:
Build and maintain good working relationships with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders on a range of commercial issues.
Ensure adherence to legal, regulatory and security requirements in service delivery and build diversity, equality and social value considerations into plans.
Support senior management with, or personally lead on, specific work streams, making data led decisions to support a culture of efficiency, high performance, and continuous improvement.
Preparation of procurement plans and facilitating/delivering it or making recommendations for action to stakeholders, ensuring adherence to UK Procurement Regulations and Government policy.
Work with financial processes and tools to evaluate options and ensure financial information and data are accurately reflected in commercial plans.
Supports any Procurement and Commercial activities within four specified areas including, Crime and Operations, People and Finance, Estates and Facilities and Information Services.

What the role requires:
Must be willing undertake and complete the Commercial Procurement & Supply Level 4 apprenticeship standard.
Knowledge of supporting commercial principles, processes and practices.
Experience of producing reports, making recommendations and providing reports to inform decision making at senior level.
Desire to learn and develop into the role, promoting a business partnering approach with internal departments.
Resilient and adaptable with the ability to work under pressure and to tight deadline.
Ability to operate in a value-driven style consistent with the values of the public services and specifically with the new organisational values.
Able to work with minimum supervision.
