Our client is looking for an Accountant, or equivalent commercial experience, to join a growing practice.
This is a superb opportunity for an enthusiastic, hardworking individual to be exposed to a number of different businesses in varying industries.
You'll be primarily responsible for assisting management to provide small and medium-sized businesses with accurate and timely audit, accounting, and taxation support.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Performing external audits from planning through to completion for small and medium-sized companies as well as incorporated and unincorporated charities.
2. Ensuring compliance with auditing and professional standards, keeping up to date with evolving laws and regulations.
3. Preparation of financial statements, including consolidated financial statements for limited companies, incorporated and unincorporated charities, LLPs, partnerships, and sole traders.
4. The completion of year-end accounts for businesses and associated tax computations.
5. Acting as Audit Semi/Senior in respect of Audit assignments.
6. The preparation and submission of VAT returns.
7. Assistance with the preparation of personal tax computations.
8. Liaising with HMRC on behalf of clients.
9. Using cloud-based accounting systems.
Experience Required:
1. Experience within an accountancy practice is preferred but not necessarily required.
2. Qualified or QBE Accountant. Part qualified will be considered.
3. Accounts/Audit experience.
4. Willingness to learn and work within a team.
5. Good communication skills.
6. Experience with accounting software would be beneficial.
7. Proficient in Excel and Word.
