Location: Lewes Job Type: 3 months Salary: £11.44 We are looking for a dedicated Venue Caretaker to manage the day-to-day caretaking, cleaning, and maintenance duties at three key venues. This role involves a variety of responsibilities including basic building and equipment maintenance, event setup and breakdown, and ensuring the venues are clean, safe, and well-presented for all users. Day-to-day of the role: Maintenance and Cleaning: Maintain all buildings, offices, halls, kitchens, and toilets ensuring they are in a clean and tidy condition. Set up and break down equipment for events. Customer Interaction: Act as a point of contact for hirers and patrons during shifts, ensuring all venue-related queries and issues are addressed promptly and professionally. Safety and Compliance: Conduct regular health and safety checks, ensure compliance with safety procedures, and maintain stocks of consumable materials. Security and Supervision: Supervise the buildings during operating hours, manage security measures including locking up and setting alarms, and monitor the use of the venues to deter antisocial behavior. Required Skills & Qualifications: Experience: Proven experience in maintenance, cleaning, or a similar caretaking role. Skills: General maintenance/DIY skills, physical strength for moving furniture and equipment, and ability to clean to a high standard. Knowledge: Effective cleaning processes, use of power and hand tools, and relevant health and safety regulations. Personal Attributes: Strong organizational skills, good time management, polite and professional interaction with the public, and a flexible approach to working hours.
