My client is an international leader in nuclear energy with a strong reputation for innovative solutions and high-value technologies. They are currently working on a number of industry leading power generation projects and as such as are looking to expand their talent team here.
Due to their ongoing growth, they are recruiting for a Construction Manager for their large secure project in Bridgwater.
Reporting to the Senior Project Manager and the Site Manager, the key objective of the Construction Manager will be to ensure assigned site and projects works are planned and delivered in line with agreed contractual obligations and expectations with the intention to create a positive and collaborative client relationship.:
The successful Construction Manager will be responsible for the direction, coordination, implementation, and completion of site .
You will be reposnsilsbe for:
1. Ensuring site works are executed and controlled according to the best practices, meet customer requirements and minimise risks for the business
2. Developing and taking responsibility for the site management processes in line with management system and best practice in UK
3. Directly managing or participating in specific projects, site activitys and bids in all aspects related to site or project management, site work delivery planning, HSE/CDM advisory
4. Developing, leading and overseeing site teams in accordance to projects needs
5. Managing the relationship with the client and all stakeholders including third parties/vendors
6. Delivering regular site reports and manage day to day running of the site activities.
7. Leading by example in helping to foment a strong QHSE culture and ensure that they and all of the Supervisory staff are 100% compliant with the HSE regulations at all times.
8. Being suitably familiar with the contents of the Quality and HSE Plans to be able to ensure that they are fully complied with including but not limited to:
9. Ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations and customer requirements.
You will have:
10. Knowledge of current Health & Safety regulations in particular Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015
11. City and Guilds in Engineering (desirable)
12. SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme)
13. CSCS Managers and Professionals
14. IOSH Managing Safely ILM level 3
15. Experience of managing site activities and subcontractors of equipment projects.
16. Experience of managing site activities in excess of £5M
17. Good understanding of welding and fabrication processes
18. Experience in fabrication of Stainless-steel equipment
19. Experience in highly regulated industries
20. Experience in Nuclear (highly desirable)
