My client is an international leader in nuclear energy with a strong reputation for innovative solutions and high-value technologies. They are currently working on a number of industry-leading power generation projects and as such are looking to expand their talent team here.
Due to their ongoing growth, they are recruiting for a Construction Manager for their large secure project in Bridgwater.
Reporting to the Senior Project Manager and the Site Manager, the key objective of the Construction Manager will be to ensure assigned site and projects works are planned and delivered in line with agreed contractual obligations and expectations with the intention to create a positive and collaborative client relationship.
The successful Construction Manager will be responsible for the direction, coordination, implementation, and completion of site activities.
You will be responsible for:
* Ensuring site works are executed and controlled according to best practices, meet customer requirements, and minimize risks for the business.
* Developing and taking responsibility for the site management processes in line with the management system and best practices in the UK.
* Directly managing or participating in specific projects, site activities, and bids in all aspects related to site or project management, site work delivery planning, HSE/CDM advisory.
* Developing, leading, and overseeing site teams in accordance with project needs.
* Managing the relationship with the client and all stakeholders including third parties/vendors.
* Delivering regular site reports and managing day-to-day running of the site activities.
* Leading by example in helping to foster a strong QHSE culture and ensuring that they and all of the supervisory staff are 100% compliant with HSE regulations at all times.
* Being suitably familiar with the contents of the Quality and HSE Plans to ensure full compliance with all applicable regulations and customer requirements.
You will have:
* Knowledge of current Health & Safety regulations, particularly Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015.
* City and Guilds in Engineering (desirable).
* SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme).
* CSCS Managers and Professionals.
* IOSH Managing Safely ILM level 3.
* Experience of managing site activities and subcontractors on equipment projects.
* Experience of managing site activities in excess of £5M.
* Good understanding of welding and fabrication processes.
* Experience in fabrication of stainless-steel equipment.
* Experience in highly regulated industries.
* Experience in Nuclear (highly desirable).
