Key Responsibilities:
As a Specialist Paediatric Occupational Therapist, you will:
* Assess and prescribe equipment tailored to the needs of each child or young person.
* Communicate complex information sensitively and effectively with patients, families, and caregivers, ensuring the voice of the child or young person is heard.
* Plan and organize your caseload, prioritizing patient care and training sessions to maintain a high-quality service.
* Deliver impactful occupational therapy interventions in diverse settings, including special and mainstream schools, clinics, and homes.
* Develop and implement specialized occupational therapy programs in areas such as trauma, rehabilitation, or mental health.
* Collaborate as part of a multidisciplinary team, recognizing and supporting the unique roles of team members to provide comprehensive care.
* Supervise and allocate work to team members, providing training and mentorship in your specialist area.
* Work as an autonomous practitioner within professional codes of practice, taking responsibility for a community-based caseload and potentially leading a team or specialist area.
Essential Requirements:
To succeed in this role, you should have:
* A professional qualification in Occupational Therapy.
* Significant clinical experience working with children and young people with complex needs.
* Proficiency in applying occupational therapy frameworks and approaches.
* Demonstrated high-level clinical reasoning skills.
* Extensive knowledge of assessment and treatment models relevant to paediatric care.
