Children’s Residential (EBD)
Location: Walsall

We’re looking for an experienced Dual Registered Manager to take the reins of two fully operational therapeutic children’s homes in Walsall. These homes support young people aged 8–18 with EBD, often following complex and disrupted early life experiences.
This is a brilliant opportunity for someone who’s confident with Ofsted, knows how to lead strong, values-led teams, and understands what it takes to create a safe, nurturing, and consistent environment for young people who need it most.
The role at a glance:
* Full-time, permanent leadership role overseeing two small therapeutic EBD homes
* Ofsted registration essential, you’ll need to have been previously registered or be ready to complete the process confidently
* Monday to Friday, 40 hours, with flexibility for on-call responsibilities
* Two stable, fully operational homes with consistent staff teams already in place
Key responsibilities:
* Take full accountability for day-to-day running of both homes
* Lead both services in line with Children’s Homes Regs, Quality Standards and Ofsted expectations
* Make sure all care planning, risk management and safeguarding practices are solid, proactive and up to date
* Oversee Reg 44 and Reg 45 processes, ensuring responses are timely and robust
* Deliver strong leadership and line management, supervision, appraisals, team development and rota oversight
* Ensure the homes remain financially sustainable, including appropriate occupancy and matching of young people
* Maintain a culture where young people feel safe, listened to and genuinely cared for
* Represent the homes with external agencies, professionals and during inspections
* Champion reflective practice, drive staff development and uphold a therapeutic, child-centred ethos
You’ll need:
* Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management (Children, Young People & Families – or equivalent)
* A strong grip on regulations, inspection frameworks, and care standards
* The ability to lead from the front, coach others and create a positive, trauma-informed culture
* Full UK driving licence
* Previous experience being Ofsted Registered
Perks and Benefits:
* Private medical healthcare
* Life insurance
* £3,000 annual bonus
* Medicash cash-back plan
* £100 Christmas voucher
* Easter egg gift (yes, really)
* Pension scheme (NEST auto-enrolment)
A bit about the provider:
These homes sit within a medium-sized, well-established residential care provider with six other homes and a clear therapeutic direction. It’s a company with a big heart and high standards, they’re big enough to offer progression and support, but small enough that you’ll be known, heard and backed properly by the leadership team. There’s a real focus on building safe, stable homes where children are supported by consistent adults and are given the space to grow, develop trust, and move forward. Homes are run with care and calm, not chaos, with the Registered Manager at the centre of it all.
If you’ve been waiting for a senior role where you can lead with integrity and make a long-term difference across more than one home, this could be the one.
