We are seeking Operatives to work on projects for the Environment Agency, including river restoration, embankment construction, habitat creation, and eel screen installations. Travel and overnight stay £115.50 day rate or priced work Reporting to the Site Supervisor, you will be responsible for delivering works on our Environmental Agency contracts to a high standard and in a timely manner. Travel and overnighters will be part of the job. You will: • Assist with the preparation of sites, including unloading and storing of building materials and plant • Store, handle, use and dispose of materials in the correct manner • Perform physical tasks such as basic timber shuttering, drainage and kerb laying, material mixing and application • Operate heavy machinery in conjunction with CPCS training e.g. diggers/dumpers/compressors • Maintain a safe and tidy working environment including wearing full PPE, at all times • Follow the Company Safety Handbook, and all other safety instructions • Follow all training and reasonable instructions given • Working within or close to rivers and other watercourses • Experience of working on-site, in a civil capacity. • Possess a conscientious and positive attitude to work. • Be self-motivated and have the ability to complete daily tasks with minimum supervision. • Ability to work at heights safely, following relevant training. • Ability to follow instructions and accept personal responsibility. • Ability to lift, carry and push equipment. • Ability to act on initiative, particularly in respect to Health & Safety and reporting relevant matters. • Demonstrate good driving skills in company vans, where driving will be monitored and tracked. • Willingness to attend training courses, as and when required. • Willingness to travel and work away from home, as and when required. • Possess a full, clean UK driving licence. • Awareness of protection & preservation of wildlife and habitat In return for your hard work and dedication, you will receive • £115.50 per day or priced work • PPE and specialist construction tickets provided • Training and advancement opportunities • 24 days' paid holiday • Healthcare cash scheme • Death in service benefit • Eyeware scheme • Hundreds of discounts using our benfit platform • 6% company pension contribution For more information please contact careersstonbury.co.uk
