We are looking for a skilled and motivated commercial professional to join our client’s expanding team in delivering cost and contract management services for projects within the UK Energy sector. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about contributing to impactful initiatives in the Energy Infrastructure sector. About the Role The position involves working as a Cost Manager / Quantity Surveyor, overseeing various projects and providing expert advice and support to ensure successful outcomes. You will collaborate with diverse stakeholders and play a key role in cost and contract management. Responsibilities Developing strong, productive relationships with clients, project teams, and contractors. Managing contracts effectively to align with project goals and organisational policies. Ensuring accurate budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting throughout the project lifecycle. Monitoring project costs, managing cash flows, and handling financial applications promptly and accurately. Supporting teams in delivering project objectives, ensuring budgets and schedules are met. Overseeing contract variations and implementing changes within governance frameworks. Enhancing the accuracy of financial forecasting and driving improvements in cost control processes. Providing expert commercial advice to stakeholders and resolving cost-related challenges. Managing the negotiation and agreement of final accounts. Contributing to project commissioning and related management tasks as required. Experience and Skills The ideal candidate MUST have experience within Energy or Infrastructure projects within the UK and will bring: Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Expertise in contract management, with knowledge of NEC contracts or similar frameworks being advantageous. Experience in cost management, procurement, and financial reporting. A background in handling change control, valuations, and estimating. The ability to collaborate effectively and adopt a “best for project” mindset. Familiarity with governance processes and delivering high-quality project outcomes. Preferred Qualifications A degree in a relevant field (or equivalent experience). Professional membership or progression towards membership with a recognised industry body is a plus.
