This role play a key role in ensuring efficient administrative processes and providing first-line support on employee queries. This role is ideal for a proactive and detail-oriented individual with experience in a fast-paced, high-growth environment. The ideal candidate will have strong administrative experience, a solid foundational understanding of employee relations, and the ability to collaborate effectively with key stakeholders across the business to support scaling teams and evolving people strategies.

This Role
Key Responsibilities
Administrative & HR Support
* Maintain and update employee records, ensuring all HR systems (HiBob, Deputy) are accurate and up to date.
* Prepare and issue employment contracts, letters, and other HR-related documentation.
* Own the end-to-end onboarding and offboarding process, ensuring a seamless experience for employees.
* Ensure compliance with company policies, employment legislation, and data protection regulations (GDPR).
* Support the implementation and maintenance of HR systems, identifying opportunities for process improvements.
* Assist in coordinating & supporting people-related initiatives, such as training & development, annual reviews, engagement surveys, etc.
* Ensure HR processes and policies are applied consistently, identifying opportunities for improvement.
* Support the People team with people projects and initiatives
* Assist in gathering and analysing HR data to provide insights and recommendations for continuous improvement.
* Assist in with talent development initiatives, such as succession planning and internal mobility from the People side
Employee Relations (ER) Support
* Support line managers in handling people-related issues in line with company policies, escalating to People Partners where necessary.
* Assist in tracking and managing casework, ensuring accurate records are maintained.
* Responsible for meticulous note-taking and administrative support for ER cases, ensuring accurate documentation and efficient case management
Payroll & Benefits Support
* Work closely with the Finance team to ensure accurate and timely processing of monthly payroll for Retail employees.
* Communicate payroll-related changes, including starters, leavers, salary adjustments, and variable pay (e.g., sickness, overtime).
* Act as the first point of contact for employee payroll and benefits queries, ensuring timely resolution.
* Support the administration of employee benefits, including enrollments, changes, and queries.
Skills & Experience
* Strong, demonstrable experience in HR administration/coordination, with exposure to employee relations.
* Working knowledge of employment law and HR best practices.
* Experience providing first-line ER advice and supporting managers with people-related issues.
* Strong attention to detail and ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
* Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build relationships across all levels.
* Strong organisational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities & a fast paced environment
* Proficiency in HR systems (HiBob & Deputy desirable) and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
* Experience supporting payroll processes is a plus.

Requirements

* Demonstrable experience working in a HR admin/assistant role required
* Knowledge and understanding of HR policies, procedures and processes, as well as employment legislation
* CIPD qualification, or equivalent, desirable
* Knowledge of Health & Safety best practice, desirable
