Field Service Engineer
Are you an experienced Field Service Engineer looking for a new challenge? The Field Service Engineer is to provide professional service and support for their customers by performing field service installation, startup, repairs, and maintenance of equipment. The Field Service Engineer will work within the guidelines established by the company, ensuring customer issues are resolved in a timely manner and that the customer is left feeling cared for.
Job Responsibilities
1. Install, troubleshoot, and maintain equipment as required, ensuring proper functionality and performance.
2. Identify, analyse, and resolve equipment failures, determining the causes of operating errors and taking corrective actions promptly.
3. Perform routine maintenance on equipment, including implementing necessary training to prevent future issues.
4. Record all activities, including service reports, job tickets, repairs, and maintenance performed, ensuring accurate and timely documentation.
5. Provide regular updates to both the customer and Service Management, ensuring clear communication on job completion or progress at the end of each day.
6. Ensure customer satisfaction by taking ownership of tasks and completing jobs effectively. Be prepared to work additional hours when necessary to fulfil customer needs and ensure the proper performance of your duties.
7. Continuously seek and retain sufficient product knowledge to perform work competently and efficiently.
8. Adhere to all safety guidelines established by the company and its customers to ensure a safe working environment.
9. Be flexible to travel as needed, including staying in hotels to support customer demands. This may involve work outside your local area, attending supplier locations for training, updates, Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs), and customer support.
Person Specifications
1. Experience in the field or a related area.
2. Apprenticeship or equivalent Electro-mechanical experience preferred (NVQ Level 3 minimum).
3. Previous experience and knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics, and motor control circuitry required.
4. PLC's with Ladder Logic knowledge is advantageous.
5. Must be able to read and understand electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic diagrams.
6. Excellent communication skills with the ability to build relationships with customers.
7. Possess a valid driver's license.
Hours of Work, Pay, and Benefits
1. Monday to Friday.
2. 08:30 to 17:30.
3. £40,000 to £45,000.
4. Company vehicle with fuel card.
5. Overtime paid at excellent rates (paid door to door).
