Pleckgate High School wishes to appoint a hardworking, enthusiastic and committed General Technician to provide support in practical subject areas such as Art, Science, Food and Design Technology,. If you are experienced, enthusiastic, open to new ideas and have a flexible ‘can do’ approach, we would welcome an application from you. This position is term time, working 39 weeks per year 8am - 4pm Monday to Thursday and 8am to 3.30pm on Friday. The pro rata salary is £21,803 to £22,860 per annum.
What does this job do?
* Support teachers and pupils during lessons under the direction of the Heads of Department
* Collect, set up and check equipment for practical lessons
* Make sure rooms and resources meet health and safety rules
* Put away equipment after lessons
* Manage equipment, supplies and working to keep within the department budget for resources
* Repair, maintain and modify equipment and teaching aids as required
What are the job requirements?
* 5 GCSE’s or equivalent
* A confident communicator at all levels, with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Knowledge of COSHH regulations
* General technician experience
* Ability to self-manage, organise, and prioritise tasks and work under pressure during troubleshooting and problem-solving
* Basic first aid or willingness to attend course
* Qualification in H&S and fire prevention
* ICT applications and email experience
* Good literacy and numeracy skills
* Delivery of 1:1 practical support for pupils
