Polypipe Civils & Green Urbanisation design, develop and manufacture thermoplastic piping systems for civils and infrastructure projects with the industry’s widest choice of water management, surface water drainage, sewer and cable protection systems.
Role:
Reporting directly to the Fabrication Senior Team Leader, the Fabrication Assistant will be a motivated self-starter whilst working as part of a team. They will be responsible for the safe running of Fabrication machines and ensure production is maintained at the highest quality and that production targets are maintained to the highest level. Safety will be your number one priority – actively contributing to a no harm culture through leading by example, delivering high standards of cleanliness and reliability around the production machines.
Working Hours: 08:00 - 16:30, Monday to Friday.
Hourly Rate: Start Rate £12.21 per hour.
Key Responsibilities:
* Ensure all production movements of material or packaging are recorded as appropriate on the paperwork provided and booked out on IFS with the paperwork processed on time.
* Accurately measure key input and output parameters.
* Communicate with the Engineers and Senior Team Leaders to ensure problems are escalated and reported using the job card system to prioritise workload.
* Notify your Supervisor of any H&S risks, using the incident report form.
* Ensure that all tasks are completed in a timely manner.
* Record information and data to ensure machine efficiency.
* Inform your supervisor of any suggestions that you have to improve processes in your area.
* Perform any other tasks reasonably expected by management, including supporting other departments within manufacturing as required to meet the operational demands of the business.
The Person:
* Previous experience of working within a manufacturing environment, desirable but not essential.
* Knowledge of Key Performance Indicators and measurement systems, desirable but not essential.
* Must be process and solution driven.
* Must consider all sides/options uncovering root causes.
* Experience of Health and Safety Audits including risk assessments, desirable but not essential.
* RTITB FLT Counterbalance Certificate, desirable but not essential.
