Job Description:
Looking for the next step in your career? Do you enjoy a variety of technical challenges in a dynamic and fast-paced work environment? By joining our UK Lifecycle Services team as an Application Support Engineer, you will support our customers through a blend of upgrades, application deployments, and maintenance activities on their DeltaV DCS/SIS. You will primarily engage our Process Systems and Solutions (PSS) customers within a region of the UK, including our offshore installations, to build relationships and become their trusted adviser. You may also be required to support elsewhere within Emerson's Northern Europe Region. We deploy a wide variety of products from the DeltaV portfolio, with a significant Cybersecurity focus including Backup & Recovery, Patch Management, Endpoint Security, and Application Whitelisting. You will complete certification paths for these products so that you can deploy and maintain them. We also support customers with maintenance and incident resolution activities, and you'll be part of the on-call team which is rostered to provide 24/7 emergency response to several UK customers. These activities will require you to regularly travel to customer sites (average approximately 60% to 70% of your time).
If this sounds like an exciting job for you, we encourage you to join our team!
In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:
* Establish a deep understanding of DeltaV, its complementary products, and the infrastructure on which it is deployed;
* Take ownership of deployment projects - from the proposal and design through to site execution;
* Perform maintenance tasks on customer systems;
* Support the sales team to promote and sell products and services in our portfolio;
* Be included in the on-call rota, ready to respond to customer emergencies;
* Embrace the "Think Customer" culture and build positive relationships with our customers.
Who You Are:
You build customer relationships. You align words and actions to model reliability. You stay on top of new communications technologies. You try different solutions for problems and learn from the results.
For This Role, You Will Need:
* Enjoy being hands-on with installing and maintaining hardware and software on customer sites;
* Be comfortable interacting with customers;
* Understand computer, network, and control system architectures, including Virtualisation;
* Be capable of installing Microsoft Windows and DeltaV applications;
* Resolve issues in a calm and structured manner, know your limits, and call on support from others when needed;
* Write project and report documents;
* Be flexible to meet the demands of our customers, which includes being willing to occasionally work offshore, unsociable hours, and weekends.
Preferred Qualifications that Set You Apart:
* Communication and collaboration skills.
Our Offer to You:
We understand the importance of work-life balance and are dedicated to supporting our employees' personal and professional needs. From competitive benefits plans and comprehensive medical care to equitable opportunities for growth and development, we strive to create a workplace that is supportive and rewarding.
Depending on location, our flexible work-from-home policy allows you to make the best of your time by combining quiet home office days with collaborative experiences in the office so that you can personalize your work-life mix.
Moreover, our global volunteer employee resource groups will empower you to connect with peers that share the same interest, promote diversity and inclusion, and positively contribute to communities around us.
