Job overview
The Medirooms combine the traditional recovery, day-case, same-day and admission areas into a single patient room environment, specifically designed to enhance patient experience by improving the level of privacy and dignity that these areas were traditionally able to offer. Patients also benefit from continuity of care as they are admitted, recovered and discharged/transferred by the same Mediroom team.
* Our Practice Facilitators support staff through induction and orientation, with reviews to help them achieve their clinical competencies and support their wellbeing.
* We provide a wide range of in-house training and a preceptor is assigned to support your continuing professional development.

Main duties of the job
The state-of-the-art Brunel Building is one of the most modern hospitals in Europe, accommodating 24 operating theatres, with 72 single patient Medirooms situated in close proximity to the theatres. The Medirooms are arranged in 5 clusters over 2 floors.
We have further operating theatres in the Women and Childrens' block, Park View Theatres and we are opening a new Elective Care Centre in Summer 2025. These theatres will be supported by traditional recovery suites.
The Mediroom workforce is fully flexible and rotates between all our Theatre & Mediroom / Recovery areas.

Person specification
Education/Training/Qualifications
* Registered Nursing Associate with Registration on the NMC register
* Foundation Degree (FdSc) Nursing Associate Level 5
* GCSE Grade A-C in Math’s & English or functional skills level 2 Math’s and English or equivalent
Work Experience
* Recent experience of caring for acutely unwell patients in different settings – this can be as a student
* Evidence of working effectively as part of the immediate and wider team
* Evidence of providing and receiving complex or sensitive information
* Evidence of supporting other learners/staff where appropriate to role
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
* Must be able to demonstrate English language proficiency level required for this post.
* IT literate to include Microsoft word, Email, keyboard skills
* Understanding of the scope of the role of the Nursing Associate in context of the nursing and interdisciplinary team and the organisation, and how the role may contribute to service development
* Understands and acts in line with NMC professional standards for practice contained within NMC Code 2018
* Knowledge of when to seek advice and escalate concerns to the appropriate professional for expert help and advice
* Understands requirements for NMC professional Revalidation
* Understanding of the importance of following procedures and treatment plans
* Understanding of evidence-based practice
