The Opportunity
Join Aggregate Industries as a General Operative at our new Bordesley Green Recycling facility in Birmingham. This is an exciting chance to work in a dynamic, safety-focused environment where customer service and operational efficiency are key. Whether it’s welcoming customers, operating mobile plants, or supporting light maintenance tasks, your contributions will be valued as part of a dedicated and hardworking team.
* Provide excellent customer service, handling internal and external queries professionally and effectively.
* Carry out pre-start checks on fixed and mobile plant, ensuring all equipment is safe to operate.
* Perform routine maintenance, such as greasing and visual inspections, in line with schedules.
* Operate equipment including loading shovels, and be open to training on other machinery such as mini diggers, telehandlers, and mobile crushers/screeners.
* Maintain high housekeeping standards, ensuring a safe and clean working environment.
Who You Are
You’re a proactive and reliable General Operative with a passion for safety, customer service, and teamwork. Your willingness to learn and adapt makes you a key contributor to site operations.
* Prior experience operating mobile plant is advantageous, but full training will be provided for motivated individuals.
* Shovel loading ticket is essential.
* Strong interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety and environmental regulations.
* Flexible, with the ability to work weekends and adapt to changing work requirements. A strong desire for training and continuous learning is essential.
