This type of care is designed for older people who might be finding it difficult to cope at home without assistance. Providence Court provides accommodation with 24 hour personal care and support.
Dementia Care
This type of specialist care is delivered by highly trained staff for those who are living with dementia. We provide 24 hour personal care and support in a supportive environment.
Respite Care
In many cases, residential care may only be needed for a short time, for example to enable family or carers to have a break. This service is also available to those who may be recovering from an illness or operation. We provide 24 hour care in a safe comfortable environment from just a few days to as long as you need.
Palliative and End of Life Care
We provide 24 hour care and support for those who are living with a terminal illness, as well as those who are at the end of life.

What does this Care Assistant job involve?
Hours of Work: Up To Full Time Hours Per Week - Shifts: 7:30am-3pm and 2pm-9:30pm
• Promoting the dignity, privacy and encouragement of independence of residents.
• Attending to residents' physical and personal needs including washing, dressing, bathing, toileting, feeding and any other personal needs.
• To listen to and respect the individual's rights to privacy and dignity at all times; to help each individual overcome any anxieties.
• To encourage contacts with friends and family, activities in the community and personal shopping.
• To undertake the key worker function.
• To help with the preparation and serving of meals and other appropriate domestic tasks.
• To participate in staff meetings, training and development and staff supervision.
• To maintain the residents' health and welfare.
• To contribute to the preparation and review of individual customer’s care plans.
• To assist with the distribution of medication.
• To undertake any other duties, depending on skills and competency, to enable the efficient running of the Home.

• Trustworthy and able to deal confidentially with Residents’ and business information.
• Have a passion to care for older people and be acutely aware of their needs.
• Ability to use own initiative.
• Ability to work as an effective team member and able to prioritise tasks.
• Ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally with team members, residents, families and other professionals.
• Ability to relate positively to residents, team members and relatives with regard to their circumstances, gender, cultural and ethnic background.
• A positive attitude to residents’ rights. A respectful and flexible approach to dealing with residents’ personal care needs.
• A very flexible approach to working hours and able to work weekends and other unsociable hours.
• Physically fit to carry out work involving moving and handling residents and attend for work on a regular basis.
• Good level of literacy and numeracy skills.
• NVQ2 in Care or willing to study for it.
• Previous experience in a caring role.
• Experience in communicating with people living with dementia.
• Committed to own professional development.
• Neat and tidy in appearance.
• Over 18 years of age.
