Harbor is seeking a Category Manager (Technology) to join our growing team. The Category Manager is responsible for overseeing the planning, development, and execution of procurement strategies relating to IT needs at Harbor. This individual will work directly with the Senior Technology Category Manager and report to the Senior Manager/Client Lead for several key accounts. The role will manage critical supplier relationships, lead the sourcing lifecycle for acquisitions of IT equipment, software licensing, and more. This is a full-time hybrid position located in Manchester, UK. Candidates should expect to be onsite at Client office location two to three days per week. Responsibilities Deliver business value through management of IT projects or contracts of varying complexity and creation of long-term category strategy; Lead sourcing lifecycle including requirements gathering, RFPs, coordination of pricing and contracting processes; Partner with Technology business unit to lead contract negotiations, pull in additional resources as necessary (security and technology SMEs), execute contracting and approval processes; Advise internal stakeholders through subject matter expertise in procurement, technology capabilities and category insights; Analyze data pertaining to market analyses, contemporary market intelligence, product and pricing information, and procurement spend; Maintain knowledge of current trends in information technology, vendor capabilities, and solutions; Other projects as needed/assigned. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Technology or a related field is required. Minimum 5 years of experience in category management, procurement, strategic sourcing, or related roles. Proven experience in negotiation and management of complex procurement activities. Experience with sourcing strategy, process development, contract writing, vendor and risk management. Ability to interface at all levels of the organization and with suppliers to address problems or evolving stakeholder needs. Strong project management, problem solving, analytical, communication, relationship building skills. Experience with Professional Services environments, including Mergers & Acquisitions, is highly desired.
