With many companies' choosing Howard for their plant machinery hire, this role will require the apprentice to manage the plant hire system and ensure their customers have a great experience.

The NMW for apprentices applies, with scope for wage increases at 6 and 12 months subject to performance

Work
As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.
What you’ll do at work
* Assist in handling customer inquiries regarding plant and equipment hire
* Help schedule and coordinate the delivery and collection of machinery
* Ensure the right equipment is available for hire based on project needs
* Communicate with customers to understand their requirements
* Work towards providing guidance on equipment selection and safe usage
* Handle customer queries, complaints, and contract amendments
* Work with transport team to arrange deliveries and collections
* Monitor equipment availability and ensure efficient allocation
* Assist in tracking equipment maintenance and servicing schedules
* Help maintain hire records, contracts, and invoices
* Process hire agreements and update internal databases
* Assist in preparing reports on plant utilisation and hire costs
* Ensure all hired equipment meets health and safety regulations
* Assist with inspections and compliance checks
* Promote safe usage of plant and machinery among customers
* Interact with internal and external stakeholders

Your training plan
The successful candidate will work towards a Level 2 Hire Controller Qualification, which will take 12-months plus End Point Assessment, and will be delivered by West Nottinghamshire College on a Work Based Learning basis.
