About the role:
* Working closely with the CEO, the CFO will be responsible for ensuring effective accounting and reporting throughout the Club, overseeing and monitoring an effective control environment and providing strategic information and advice to the CEO and Board, to include:
-Finance / Business processes – ensure the Club can facilitate significant annual growth.
-Governance - ensure appropriate controls are in place to protect the Club and its assets.
-Internal and external reporting to key stakeholders.
* Leading the financial planning, budgeting, cash management and financial forecasting of the Club, so that short and long-term objectives are appropriately financed.
* Ensuring that the Club complies with the financial aspects of all relevant legislation and governance.
* Identifying and managing financial risks and opportunities across all areas of the Club.
* Actively contributing to the leadership of the business as a key leadership position.
* Ensuring high-quality and detailed management accounts are compiled
* Providing financial analysis, focusing on long-term returns to shareholders, in support of strategic initiatives.
Skills and Experience
Required:
* Significant post qualification experience in a senior accounting role.
* Proven track record operating at a senior level supporting a fast-growing organisation.
* Ideally you will have proven experience in football, but we will consider candidates coming from other sports.
* Qualified Chartered Accountant (ACCA/ACA/CIMA).
* Strong financial, accounting, technical and managerial skills.
* Excellent leadership and management skills with a proven ability in relationship building, collaboration across functions, and conflict management.
* Resilient, flexible and a positive attitude.
* Strong ability to implement and monitor internal controls – able to anticipate, assess and mitigate risks.
