Job Description
Are you passionate about engineering and technology and looking to do an apprenticeship? As a Level 3 Machining Technician Apprentice at TTP, you’ll gain hands-on experience in our workshop making and modifying parts for product development projects all while working towards a Level 3 qualification. You'll work closely with our Designers, Engineers, and Scientists, supporting them across a variety of innovative projects. Each day will be different as your tasks will depend on the exciting client projects we have going on in the business; you’ll have the opportunity to learn a wide range of skills and the ability to adapt to new challenges.
As part of TTP's manufacturing team, you’ll be fully supported and mentored whilst working alongside experienced technicians, some of whom have been through apprenticeships themselves. You’ll gain on-the-job experience by working onsite at our award-winning campus whilst also completing training at Cambridge Regional College.
Responsibilities
* Support with fault-finding and system debugging to ensure quality and reliability in both prototypes and production builds.
* Operating specific CNC and manual machine tools, becoming proficient in producing and modifying high-precision components.
* Master the use of hand tools for precision modifications to components, ensuring quality and accuracy in every build.
* Develop a practical understanding of mechanical design, including fitting techniques, clearances, gear Pitch Circle Diameters (PCDs), bearings, and more.
* Collaborating on projects to contribute to design reviews and project discussions.
* Setting up production lines and implementing efficient manufacturing workflows.
Additional Responsibilities
* Attend CRC training and complete national academic qualification as defined by the apprenticeship training standard: Level 3 Machining Technician Apprentice.
What You’ll Bring
* Minimum of 5 GCSEs at grade 4 or above including English and Math. We would have a preference for a grade 6 in Math.
* A passion for engineering, manufacturing, and technology.
* A detail-oriented mindset with strong problem-solving skills.
* A collaborative and proactive approach to teamwork.
* Commitment to completing the Level 3 Machining Technician Apprenticeship.
