School Guidance Counsellor / Psychologist
Full time, Permanent
Secondary (Years 7–15) / Wharekura, Guidance Counsellor
We’re looking for the right person who can make a real difference for our students, someone committed to our vision and capable of building relationships of trust throughout our school community. This is a permanent position which can be full-time or part-time (3-5 days a week), ideally starting 28 January 2025, with room for negotiation.
We’re keen to hear from suitably qualified and experienced counsellors or psychologists. This role will require a certified/registered professional who enjoys the challenges and opportunities of working with teenagers (especially boys) and has a good grasp of rural Kiwi culture. Being a team player, alongside our existing guidance counsellor and within our student services team, is essential.
As a semi-rural school close to Ōtautahi/Christchurch and the Alps, at the heart of our community, our development programme is based on a strong vision. We’re in the midst of implementing PB4L and restorative practices, curriculum reform and cultural capability development. We have a growing roll of about 830 students, Y7–13, most of whom are very well supported from home and well connected to their school, some of whom need us to adapt our practice to meet their needs.
Application Process: An application form and job description can be requested by email.
