Mills Recruitment is excited to partner with a leading company specialising in custom fabrication solutions for electronic and mechanical projects. We seek a proactive Switchrooms Manager to join their skilled and experienced management team.
Responsibilities:
1. Ensure the company’s compliance with safety and quality standards and implement systems to meet all contractual and company requirements.
2. Oversee the daily operations of the manufacturing team, including stores, sheet metal fabrication, electrical switchboard assembly, switchroom construction and fit-out, electrical testing, and site works.
3. Plan and allocate resources effectively in a fast-paced environment with competing demands.
4. Identify, manage and mitigate risks associated with production and delivery of project outcomes in a timely manner.
5. Report regularly on manufacturing progress against baseline targets.
6. Introduce new production techniques (e.g. 5S & Lean) and equipment to enhance efficiency, manufacturing capability and performance and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
7. Inspire, coach and motivate staff to develop existing talent.
8. Work closely with HR & leaders to source and grow new talent.
Qualifications & Experience:
1. Tertiary qualifications in either Electrical Engineering / Design and/or Electrical Trade related background.
2. Minimum of five years of experience in production or construction management and/or within an engineering/manufacturing environment.
3. Solid knowledge of electrical testing, inspection and verification standards, client scopes, and specifications.
4. Excellent skills in schematic, control, and single-line drawing, with some electrical design capability.
5. Extensive experience in managing regulatory compliance procedures.
6. Strong problem-solving and creative skills and the ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions based on accurate and timely analysis.
7. Thorough understanding of production planning best practices and methods.
8. Proficiency with computer systems, including Microsoft Office.
9. Switchboard and/or switchroom manufacturing experience is desirable.
10. Lean manufacturing knowledge is an asset.
11. Electrical Nominee and/or Electrical Contractors License holders are encouraged to apply.
