We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic Wound Clinic Deputy Team Lead. The ideal candidate will have experience in wound care. The role will include being responsible for the day-to-day management of patients attending the wound clinic, including providing wound care advice and support to both staff and patients within the service in relation to assessment, diagnostics, and management of complex wounds.
The candidate will also be responsible for assisting and deputising the Team Leader in the management and requirements of the nursing team by utilising effective management and leadership skills.
As a service, we are eager to provide effective patient care by following new evidence-based practice within our assessment and treatment process and aid in research recruitment of patients when and where required.
The applicant must be a Registered Nurse with NMC Registration, be confident and competent in a wide range of clinical skills, and demonstrate evidence of continuing professional development.
There is a requirement for a flexible approach to the workload due to the setup of a clinical, appointment-based environment.
The post holder will provide high-quality comprehensive specialist wound care for our population throughout CTMUHB including Rhondda, Cynon, Taf, Merthyr, and Bridgend.
Main duties of the job
1. Responsible for caseload management of service users, ensuring staff are supported with developing complex wound care treatment plans.
2. Responsible for effective communication within the MDT to develop effective, professional relationships.
3. Responsible for maintaining adequate skill mix/staffing levels within the team to ensure efficient and effective service delivery to the practice population.
4. Be responsible for supporting the team lead with line management, support, and development of the Wound Service staff.
5. Be responsible for supporting the team lead with managing the performance of individual team members supported by the PDR process, ensuring all action plans are implemented and evaluated.
6. Participate in supporting project developments within the Wound Service including assisting with the implementation of agreed changes to practice.
7. Support the team lead with evaluation initiatives i.e. audit to gain insight into service provision and performance.
8. To participate in the investigation of clinical incidents and complaints, in line with University Health Board processes and policy.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this role; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Person Specification
Knowledge
* Post Graduate Qualification at diploma or above, or willing to work towards
* Teaching qualification
* Non-Medical Nurse Prescriber (V100)
Experience
* Post-registration clinical experience within the secondary or community setting
* Experience of wound care management within clinical practice
* Experience of teaching others within the clinical environment
* Clear vision of best practice
* Knowledge of the Wound Management Guidelines and their application to Practice
