The site is a popular attraction welcoming thousands of visitors each year. With over 150 animals from rabbits and guinea pigs to sheep, alpacas, goats and pigs; our vision is to improve the genetic diversity of the breeds we have whilst educating our visitors about them. We are looking for a highly motivated people-person to undertake the responsibility for all day to day farm operations and leading a small team. You will be dedicated to animal welfare and committed to the development of our education and care farming programmes. This is a fast-paced and dynamic environment and the role is diverse, hands on and you must have a desire to work in all weathers. You will be working with the Rare Breeds Centre Manager to assist with all aspects of animal husbandry for a variety of animals. You will also be leading educational presentations to visiting groups so will need to be able to demonstrate excellent presentation, leadership and customer service skills. Due to the requirements of this role, you will need to have the physical ability to carry out tasks such as lifting feed bags, walking long distance over rough and hilly terrain and mucking out animal pens. It is also essential the successful candidate has a full UK Driving Licence.
