We are now looking to recruit an additional HR Advisor to join our team. This role is integral to the smooth operation of our HR function and will involve providing comprehensive HR support across the business. The successful candidate will work closely with managers and employees, offering guidance on a wide range of HR matters, ensuring that our HR policies are implemented effectively, and contributing to the development of HR initiatives that align with our strategic goals.

Key Responsibilities
1. Provide expert advice and support on employee relations issues, including but not limited to absence management, disciplinary, grievances, TUPE, and redundancies, ensuring compliance with UK employment law and best practices.
2. Support our recruitment team by overseeing and coordinating the onboarding process, ensuring all new starter paperwork, contracts, and offer letters are aligned, ensuring a smooth and positive experience for our new hires.
3. Assist in the development and implementation of performance management processes, including career development plans and feedback processes.
4. Contribute to the creation and updating of HR policies and procedures, ensuring they are in line with current legislation and company objectives.
5. Work with managers, employees, and our L&D team to identify training needs and support the delivery of development programs to enhance employee skills and career progression.
6. Assist with the management of compensation and benefits programs, ensuring competitiveness and alignment with market trends.
7. Participate in and sometimes lead HR-related projects, such as employee engagement surveys, diversity and inclusion initiatives, salary and benefit benchmarking, etc.
8. Ensure that all HR activities comply with legal requirements and internal policies, providing regular reports on HR metrics to management and HR Manager/Head of HR.
Skills and Experiences
1. Generalist HR experience, ideally within an engineering, construction, or similar fast-paced environment.
2. Strong understanding of UK employment law and HR best practices and willingness to learn.
3. Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
4. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
5. Proficiency in use of HR software (we currently use IFS) and Microsoft Office Suite.
6. Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Specific Qualifications
1. CIPD Level 3 or Level 5 qualification or equivalent.
2. Full UK driving license.
