Expectations:
This is a freelance role for "as and when" we secure opportunities to offer support in your community.
This role will be likely to lead to ongoing work and potentially a full time contract if we can build enough of a reputation alongside you in your designated location.
The Role:
As a Freelance Business Support Facilitator, you will be at the heart of delivering our training and events in your local area. You’ll engage with small business owners and aspiring entrepreneurs, helping them to develop their ideas, gain confidence, and build sustainable businesses.
Marketing, outreach, and business support will be the core focus of your role, along with facilitating sessions and events. You’ll need plenty of energy to get people excited about what we offer and a warm, approachable style that makes everyone feel welcome and supported.
You’ll be a relatable role model for your community, someone who can inspire others while taking the responsibility of that status seriously. This is a role where authenticity is key – we want you to bring your full self to work. Suits and blazers are not required here; we value connection, relatability, and trust above all else.
Key Responsibilities
Training & Event Facilitation: Deliver engaging, energetic training sessions and events in your local community, both in-person and online.
Community Engagement: Build relationships with local entrepreneurs, organisations, and networks to promote Welsh ICE’s programmes and reach those who need support the most.
Business Support: Provide empathetic, one-to-one guidance to individuals who may need extra help and encouragement, particularly those who lack confidence in starting or growing a business.
Outreach & Marketing: Work closely with our marketing team to raise awareness of Welsh ICE’s programmes through social media, community flyer dropping, events, and your local networks to get people excited about what we offer.
Administration: Manage programme logistics, such as scheduling sessions, tracking attendance, and ensuring resources and our speakers are ready for delivery.
Content Development & Creative Licence: Our training programmes have a flow that already works very well; but as our support is person centred, we welcome creative licence from our training facilitators to design the content to be appropriate for each cohort they get to know and support. This might mean adding in a session, or adjusting another, and making sure the speakers are appropriate for each group. Perhaps you also have a workshop that you can deliver which you feel will make all the difference to certain cohorts.
