About the service
NYAS provides mental health advocacy to children, young people and vulnerable adults within mental health settings throughout the UK.
Our service provides independent advocacy to people within mental health hospitals and community-based settings. We support individuals to ensure their voice is heard regarding their care and treatment and that they are aware of their rights.
The primary users of our services are vulnerable adults however some settings do include working with children and young people.
About the role
As an Advocate you will work with patients within a mental health setting, working towards agreed outcomes and ensuring that they are aware of what options are available to them.
Your role is to listen to them, hear how they feel and what it is they want and support them so that they can express their views, wishes and feelings in decisions that affect their lives and their care.
