The Role: As our Director of Sales for The Caledonian Edinburgh, you are responsible for working closely with the Senior Management Team to drive business needs and expand existing business through promotional efforts and sales channels. Reporting to the Commercial Director, you and your team will deliver an exceptional guest experience in accordance with our core values of care, connection and curation. Here’s what a day with us might entail: Manage hotel Proactive sales and marketing plans to ensure they?accurately interpret and support the objectives of the business and use these plans to focus the sales efforts for all market segments. Work closely with the Senior Management Team to identify and drive focused activities on elements of the business that require additional support. Drive visibility and promotions across transient and group bookings in close cooperation with the Commercial Director and Group Revenue Manager. Deliver and Manage the Luxury Consortia Segment, their Accounts and Platforms to achieve the business goals in this segment. Deliver and Manage the Corporate Segment both Local and Global Accounts to achieve the business goals in this segment. Deliver the Group Rooms Segment and Meeting & Events revenues to achieve the business goals through leading the Proactive MICE Sales Team initiatives. Develop and Manage the Proactive Sales team through leadership, including sales development; participate in the hiring of team members, and their future success. Compile and/or direct the preparation of reports pertaining to the operation of the Sales Department to include, but not limited to account production, promotions and budgets. Actively participate in the preparation of the annual Sales and Marketing Plan balancing expenses and business opportunities. Execute initiatives; swiftly implement strategies/tactics to offset changes in markets, economy or driven by the competitive set. Attend and actively participate in daily and weekly business meetings Contribute to the development of company sales and marketing initiatives by recommending implementing and monitoring appropriate activity. Organise comprehensive information describing the range of products and services offered by the hotel and deliver this information through relevant sales resources and sales channels to existing and potential Guests. Prepare and present the contribution, focus and activity of the proactive sales team to the senior management team. Cooperate with other departments in the hotel to create an exceptional Guest experience and build strong, comprehensive sales programs.
