Covering both the Ovaltine and Twinings brands, the role encompasses the broad areas of Process Management, Innovation and New Product Development, Continuous Product Improvement (product and packaging), and market implementation.
The projects are truly international and cover all IM markets. This will require close collaboration across the Twinings Ovaltine business from supply chain to the various commercial and marketing teams across International Markets (based in Andover and overseas) as well as key distributor contacts and an international network of agencies. There will be an especially vital link with the International Markets Demand Manager for effective integration of all projects with the Tea and Ovaltine supply chains.
Please note that this role is part-time, 25 hours per week. 9.30am – 2.30pm Monday to Friday.
Key Responsibilities
* Project management of Artwork projects (in collaboration with the NPD Centre of Excellence, repro graphics supplier & artwork design agency, where relevant).
* Manage the circulation, approval, and amendments to designs and artworks within IM and distributors, including design approval and rollout of the design and copy into layflats and artworks, copy collation, artwork generation, copy checking and legal approval, colour work, GMG sign off, and any internal systems administration.
* Address and resolve artwork related enquiries both internally and externally, being the key point of contact in IM for enquiries and provision of logos, artworks, pack shots and pack copy. Working with pack development to supply cutter guides and the brand/trade marketing managers to supply packaging related creative material for trade & sales presentations.
* Agreeing and defining variations to the standard Artwork process with key internal stakeholders on a project by project basis if appropriate.
* Ensure all key internal IM stakeholders are aware of key project milestones and when designs and artworks need their input and approval. Where necessary liaise directly with in-market distributors in agreement with the relevant market manager.
* Monitor performance statistics related to Artwork management (e.g. cycle time) and ensure that the number of Artwork amends is actively managed to minimise costs.
* Be aware of budgets for projects from key activities (e.g. write off approximates, packaging material origination costs, design and repro costs) working closely with the relevant BM/RM/RE/TMM.
* Ensure that budgets and key activities are split across relevant markets and this is actively managed, tracked and communicated.
* Liaise with IM and other markets taking Harmonised products regarding costs and implications to their P & L’s as well as pack copy creation.
* Liaise with the relevant teams to understand all costs for new projects.
* Ensure all POs are raised by the relevant project team (brand manager, RM or RE) and costs are in line with expectation.
* On behalf of the IM markets, advocate for and support their projects through Andover Supply Chain and in line with the Twinings Ovo NPD process. The markets need to perceive this role as an extension to their team. Project manage any Ovaltine Powder/Biscuit projects.
* Support local marketing teams with brand, product and category information when requested.
* Proactively build and manage relationships with internal stakeholders (e.g. Marketing, IM Markets, Technical Services, NPD Centre of Excellence, Central Finance) including colleagues working in Andover and International locations. Use appropriate communication plans and well-planned meetings to aid relationship management.
* Develop relationships with relevant external stakeholders such as distributors, repro graphics supplier and design agencies etc. to ensure timely delivery of projects.
* Communication with and update NPD Project Managers on progress and status of artwork approvals within the process. Support on this provided by pack dev and repro agency.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
* Experience in project administration/co-ordination with experience of delivering results.
* Experience in management of the design and artwork generation and approval process would be highly beneficial.
