Job Summary
Northumberland Older Adult Community Services are looking for a Clinical and Professional leader to support the development of the Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy Services in the pathway. They will support the Occupational Therapy Staff as well as holding a clinical caseload. The successful candidate will also be part of the collective leadership teams in the North Locality. This is a great chance for a dedicated and enthusiastic Occupational Therapist to develop their leadership skills and influence the delivery and profile of Occupational Therapy.
Main Duties of the Job
To be responsible for providing and coordinating a comprehensive Occupational Therapy service to service users who have a variety of complex occupational therapy needs, diverse presentations and a range of mental health conditions.
To deliver highly specialist evidence-based Occupational Therapy interventions within the CBU. Demonstrate strong leadership and provide clinical supervision to Occupational Therapy staff and physio staff within the pathway, ensuring robust clinical supervision structures are in place. To provide compassionate care that is based on empathy, kindness, respect, and dignity.
Provide assurance to AHP Associate Director regarding adherence to professional standards for those staff for whom he/she is professionally responsible.
Contribute to Appraisal and Personal Development of staff.
Identify and organise the delivery of appropriate clinical training, in order to ensure the highest standard of evidence-based clinical interventions are provided based on care pathway packages.

Person Specification
Qualifications
Essential
* Recognised Occupational Therapy degree or equivalent
* HCPC registered
* Evidence of successful completion of specialist short courses and other relevant CPD to Masters level equivalence e.g., Field work educators qualification
Desirable
* Registered member of the Royal College of Occupational Therapists
Knowledge and Experience
Essential
* Proven track record of post-registration clinical experience relevant to the post
* Awareness and understanding of professional accountability, HCPC and RCOT standards and other local and national initiatives.
* Experience of working within a multi-disciplinary team
* Experience of collaborative working across agencies and professional disciplines
* Proven ability to manage a clinical caseload in a flexible manner as required.
* Proven track record of providing professional leadership within clinical services.
* Experience of providing clinical supervision to clinical staff
