About the Role
Our client, a global leader in the carbide cutting tool industry, is seeking a motivated and experienced Area Sales Engineer to join their team. This role focuses on maintaining and growing sales within the manufacturing sector, with an emphasis on aerospace, oil & gas, and automotive industries. The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing sales strategies, generating new business, and building strong relationships with customers across the North East region.
Key Responsibilities
1. Sales Performance Monitoring: Track and report on sales performance, ensuring targets are consistently achieved.
2. Business Development: Identify and secure new business opportunities to expand the customer base.
3. Sales Pipeline Management: Build and maintain a strong sales pipeline to support ongoing business growth.
4. Customer Engagement: Collaborate with customers to address their needs and deliver tailored solutions.
5. Market Strategy Implementation: Develop and execute strategic sales plans to drive growth and market penetration in the assigned territory.
Preferred Qualifications & Experience
1. Industry Expertise: Ideally, a time-served engineer with experience in the aerospace, oil & gas, or automotive sectors.
2. Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of metal cutting and machining processes.
3. Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
4. Problem-Solving: Resourceful with a proactive approach to overcoming challenges.
5. IT Proficiency: Competent in the use of sales and reporting software.
