Job Opportunity: Control Panel/Hardware Design Engineer
We are seeking experienced Control Panel/Hardware Design Engineers to join Capula and be part of a world-class team. This role involves designing hardware systems primarily using proprietary hardware components for control panels, focusing on PLCs, MCCs, Drives & Controls, and Switchgear.
The responsibilities include preparing, reviewing, and verifying necessary calculations and designs. The role may require limited travel, including periods at customer sites for surveys and designing solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Design electrical panels containing PLCs and LV distribution systems.
2. Design electrical cabling and containment systems.
3. Develop technical solutions to meet project and customer expectations.
4. Work with production to see the design through to completion.
Minimum Requirements:
* Degree or HND in a relevant subject with project implementation experience.
* Knowledge of designing electrical panels and LV distribution systems.
* Proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical, Microsoft Word & Excel.
* Ability to achieve security clearance to at least SC level, possibly DV.
* Excellent communication skills for client contact and mentoring.
* Ability to mentor and develop engineers and technicians.
* Knowledge of safety and environmental legislation.
* Understanding or working towards BS7671 IEE 18th Edition Wiring Regulations.
* Understanding of IEC BS EN 61439-1, Low-voltage switchgear and control gear assemblies.
* Experience working within a multidisciplinary design team.
* Experience in a highly regulated industry.
* Understanding of EMC practices.
* Chartered or Incorporated Engineering status or working towards it.
* Advanced written and verbal communication skills in English.
