As a Panel Wirer, you will be responsible for wiring electrical control panels and associated equipment for custom-built machinery. You will work from detailed electrical drawings and schematics, assembling components and ensuring the machines operate efficiently and safely.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Build and wire control panels for special purpose machinery according to schematics and engineering drawings.
2. Install and connect electrical components, including switches, relays, PLCs, drives, and sensors.
3. Test and troubleshoot panel assemblies to ensure proper functionality.
4. Collaborate with design and mechanical teams to ensure seamless integration of electrical systems.
5. Maintain high standards of quality control throughout the wiring process.
6. Comply with company safety standards and adhere to electrical codes.
Requirements:
1. Proven experience as a Panel Wirer, ideally working on special purpose or bespoke machinery.
2. Strong understanding of electrical principles, wiring practices, and panel layout.
3. Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
4. Experience with PLCs, motor controls, and other automation components is a plus.
5. Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
6. Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
7. NVQ or qualification in electrical engineering (Level 3 or equivalent).
