A bit about the role This is an exciting opportunity to join us as a Family Support Practitioner to be part of a new Intensive Family Support Service within the South Lanarkshire area. The focus of the service within the first year will be to support young people who are leaving Secure Care services to return to their family or local community and thrive on return. Beyond this, the service will work in a strengths-based and proactive way to help prevent family breakdown. How you'll help to create brighter futures Some key responsibilities of the Family Support Practitioner are: Build strong and trusting relationships with young people, their families and others who are important to them. Work closely with local community services to help young people and their families engage with local support. Provide both pro-active and responsive support for young people and their families focussed on strengths and addressing needs. Let's talk about you SVQ 3 in social care or equivalent. Post qualification experience of working with children, young people and families and achieving positive outcomes through direct contribution with support activities and intervention. Caring and compassionate and highly motivated, enthusiastic, committed, able to use your own initiative and able to build positive and supportive relationships with families. A sound knowledge of The Promise, in particular the Family Support Principles and also the Getting It Right For Every Child (GIRFEC) approach.
