About the area The University Secretariat oversees and coordinates UWA’s formal corporate and academic governance structures. The Secretariat supports key decision-making processes by providing a reliable, confidential, and comprehensive secretariat and advisory service to the Senate, its committees, and the University’s controlled entities. About the opportunity Serve as a strategic advisor on governance, legislative compliance, and regulatory matters at a senior level. Support the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Operations) in ensuring streamlined decision-making processes and robust corporate and academic governance. Manage governance systems, including Senate procedures, academic and corporate governance frameworks, and the University's Annual Report and compliance obligations. About you Relevant degree or equivalent competency (Diploma of Corporate Governance and/or Company Directors Course highly regarded). Extensive senior management experience, including leading teams and managing budgets. Expertise in preparing and reviewing legislation, as well as policy development and review. Excellent interpersonal, written communication, and negotiation skills.
