We’re hiring Field Service Engineers and Mobile Mechanics to service and maintain municipal, plant, industrial & specialist vehicles such as sweepers, Tankers, Grabs, RCV’s, Tippers and forklifts.
About this Role
Every day, communities and businesses rely on essential equipment to keep things running smoothly. As a Field Service Engineer / Mobile Mechanic, you’ll be out in the field, making sure our environmental, municipal, civil, and utilities assets stay in top condition. From urgent breakdowns to scheduled maintenance, you’ll play a vital role in keeping our clients operational.
* Diagnose, repair, and maintain DGEMC-owned assets, including specialist utilities equipment (Road Sweepers, Tankers, Grabs, RCV’s, Tippers & Specialist Vehicles/Equipment)
* Respond swiftly to service calls, ensuring downtime is minimised
* Use diagnostic equipment to identify and resolve mechanical and electrical issues
* Maintain accurate electronic work records via PDA
* Carry out PMI inspections and complete reports
* Manage your own time and stock levels efficiently
About You
We’re looking for a hands-on technician with a problem-solving mindset. If you love working independently and thrive in a dynamic, on-the-go role, this is for you!
* Level 2 mechanical or engineering qualification (or equivalent)
* Full, valid UK driving licence
* Strong experience with hydraulic and pneumatic systems
* Confident diagnosing and repairing diesel engines and electrical faults
* Competent in the use of diagnostic equipment
* Class 2 HGV licence desirable but not essential
* Great communicator and able to prioritise workload
