Communications Manager
Programme overview:
Palladium is recruiting for a communications professional to work on the UK PACT (Partnering for Accelerated Climate Transitions) programme. UK PACT is a UK Government programme funded through International Climate Finance (ICF) that has been running since 2018 and currently operates in over ten countries.
The programme’s overall objective is to alleviate poverty, working primarily through reducing greenhouse gas emissions. UK PACT is a flexible technical assistance (TA) programme that is designed to support ODA eligible countries to increase their future climate ambitions, reduce their emissions, and accelerate just transitions to clean growth. A key feature of UK PACT is that it aims to respond explicitly to partner government demand for capacity building interventions, and that it shares UK expertise (for example in areas such as climate legislation, green finance, and smart energy).
Project Details:
The UK PACT programme aims to improve the effectiveness of key institutions (public, private and civil society) in partner countries so that they can deliver accelerated emission reductions and raise the ambition of their Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) targets.
Primary Responsibilities:
The Communications Manager will function as the lead advisor and manager for the communications team for the UK PACT Programme. They will provide technical inputs and advice to support the revision of the programme’s communications strategy and guide its subsequent implementation.
This includes:
* Lead and review the implementation of Global Communications Strategy for communication for UK PACT and guidance to team for fund level communications plans.
* Attending and supporting Team Leader and Palladium Team during agreed team check-in and workstream update meetings with Clients and senior members of the international team.
* Devise and manage regular updates to UK PACT website with the Communications team.
* Manage a global team of 3-5 communications associates and relative workplans, monitoring implementation to ensure meeting deadlines for deliverables.
* Manage team delivery of additional ad hoc requests from the client such as those relating to climate and nature COPs.
* Revise key documents and templates when needed.
* Devise and carry out trainings for global team and Implementing Partners, in coordination with team.
* Manage team delivery of content for social media, website and the mailing list and other Communications Strategy deliverables.
* Manage team delivery of Communications products from MEL outcomes.
* Close coordination and support to the global MEL team to ensure relevant outputs are regularly translated into Communications products aimed at a wider audience.
* Oversight of Calls for Proposals communication materials, as well as running online events with the Team.
* Regular coordination and production of blogs for the website, written by IPs or ghost written by the communications team including the Communications Manager.
* Recruitment and management of external Communications Consultants or agencies when needed
* Work with other teams on development and management of relevant communities of practice, as needed.

* Strong experience of internal communications, and campaign execution. Nonprofit or international development experience is preferred.
