We are looking for someone to join our small friendly team as a Business Administrator. This role is to support the management team with the effective running of the practice.
Main Duties of the Job
It will be your responsibility to monitor practice email inboxes, manage administrative tasks relating to HR, payroll, and finance. The role will also include housekeeping of IT systems used by the practice. You'll be a clear and effective communicator, with excellent written and verbal skills, and you'll remain calm and considerate at all times.

We are a 2-partner GP practice based in Penrith, serving over 11,300 patients, rated CQC Outstanding, and we are also a training practice.

Job Responsibilities
To support the Practice Manager & Partners in the effective administration and management of the practice. The Business Administrator will work under the direction of the Practice Manager, striving to enhance a number of key systems in both clinical and administrative areas.
The following are the core responsibilities of the Business Administrator. There may, on occasion, be a requirement to carry out other tasks. This will be dependent upon factors such as workload and staffing levels:
* Providing administrative support for HR, finance, and payroll.
* Supporting the Practice Manager as required with projects, systems, and procedures.
* Undertaking tasks as directed by the Practice Manager in areas of change management and continuous improvement.
* Supporting the Practice Manager in the maintenance of the practice and NHS Choices websites and social media accounts.
* Assisting with the recruitment of staff as requested by the Practice Manager.
* Supporting the Practice Manager in the reviewing and updating of practice policies and procedures.
* Coordinating all staff absences, maintaining an effective absence register.
Person Specification
Qualifications
* GCSE grade A to C in English and maths or equivalent.
* NVQ level 3 in business administration.
Knowledge and Skills
* Strong IT skills.
* Ability to prioritise and work to deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
* Ability to use initiative.
* Ability to work under pressure.
* Maintain confidentiality at all times.
* Knowledge of primary care.
* Experience with primary care IT systems.
Experience
* Previous experience in an administration role.
* Experience of working in primary care.
* Experience in HR or finance administration roles.
