On behalf of our client, we are seeking an Aircraft Wheels and Brakes Workshop Mechanic to join on a permanent basis. As the Workshop Mechanic, you will be carrying out a variety of functions sometimes physically demanding to ensure production targets are met whilst recognising, reacting, and supporting the company needs.
Role: Aircraft Wheels and Brakes Workshop Mechanic
Salary: £25,000 per annum
Contract: Monday - Friday - 08:00 - 16:30
Location: Outskirts of Burgess Hill, West Sussex
Responsibilities
* Full disassembly of aircraft wheels.
* Initial test and disassemble of aircraft brakes.
* Dismounting of aircraft tyres from wheels.
* Technical cleaning of all wheel and brake components with the use of workshop machinery.
* Operation of the paint removal machines.
* Reassembly of wheels, mounting of aircraft tyres including torquing, inflation, and pressure testing.
* Reassembly of brake units, function testing and fault isolation.
* Reading and understanding of component maintenance manuals and following technical instructions.
Education and Experience:
* Have a mechanical background with a methodical approach to assembly/disassembly.
* Good hand-eye coordination.
* Basic hand tool knowledge.
* Enjoy a fast-paced and changing environment.
* Fluent oral and written English with strong communication skills.
* GCSE pass in English and Maths or equivalent.
* Eligibility to work in the UK.
