We are looking for an experienced midwife with a broad range of midwifery experience and expertise, who will support a positive culture in the antenatal outpatient services.
This role will also include supporting the development of specialist clinics and promoting continuity of care objectives, working alongside the wider MDT team.
The Antenatal Services Manager will be responsible for working to ensure safe, effective and holistic care is provided to all women within maternity outpatients on all three hospital sites.
The post holder will demonstrate effective, visible, clinical and supportive leadership to ensure a positive staff experience. The successful candidate will be patient-focused and have enhanced strengths in communication, taking a compassionate and ultimately professional approach to the delivery of high-quality, safe patient care at all times.

Main duties of the job
The post holder will be the clinical expert and professional resource to the multi-Professional team, patients, and carers within their Speciality Service.
The successful applicant will take overall responsibility to develop the specialist area of practice in partnership with other members of the speciality team (Obstetrics, radiology, administration team, matron) and will work collaboratively to develop services and quality of care.
The post holder will manage and lead the outpatients service team comprising of band 3 CSWs, band 5 and 6 midwives and in addition lead the development and delivery of a programme of practice and professional development for staff within the speciality. This will be achieved through working in partnership with specialist, lead clinicians, managers, and matrons.

2. Co-ordinate and manage Antenatal day unit across 3 sites.
3. Contribute towards a multi-professional approach in the management of patients within the specialist area.
4. Support patients and their families and ensure that they receive the required information to enable them to self-manage, lead or participate in their care delivery.
5. To support, assist and encourage the multi-disciplinary team in resolving patient problems, by the provision of new and innovative models of care.
6. Be an innovative, enthusiastic role model providing leadership, guidance and advice to staff on operational and professional issues promoting an open and honest and transparent culture.
7. To monitor professional practice within the clinical area in order to provide the highest standard of care, developing and strengthening Midwifery roles where appropriate.
8. Identify, develop and sustain mechanisms to support patient involvement and feedback.
9. Be a resource for health care professionals by being visible, available, and accessible for support and advice in relation to the management of patients in the speciality.
10. Provide leadership to the team and working with the matron, develop new roles / ways of working (High Impact Changes). Linked to directorate business plans.
11. Lead on consultations and develop strategies for delivering effective care within a changing environment that improves the quality of care and health outcomes in the specialist area.
Person Specification
Qualifications
* Registered Nurse / Midwife/ BSC/1st degree (health related) or equivalent qualification/training and experience.
* Your professional knowledge acquired at degree level will be supplemented by specialist training, experience and short courses to Masters level equivalent.
* Recognised Teaching Qualification.
* Completion of leadership course.
* Research qualification.
* Evidence of related post graduate study.
